The Environmental Archaeology Laboratory (EAL) at the Illinois State Archaeological Survey (ISAS) provides analytical capabilities for interdisciplinary archaeological research. Through a combination of grants and projects funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, our goal is to conduct research recognized for its quality and innovation that also supports and trains staff and students in the use of archaeological sciences. The laboratory is unique in its ability to leverage collaborations with other research labs at the University of Illinois. EAL is actively pursuing new research collaborations, so please review our website and consider reaching out to discuss new projects.
